Which Web Accelerator Does VT Rocket Offer? VT Rocket offers the ATN Web Accelerator powered by SlipStream, the worldwide leader in Acceleration technology. The current version is SlipStream version 6.0.

Can anyone use VT Rocket's Web Acceleration? In order to use our Web Acceleration, you will need to be using our VT Rocket dial-up Internet access. Also, the Accelerator is only compatible with Windows and Mac computers at this time. Please see the system requirements below.

What does Web Acceleration do for me? Quite simply, it increases your web browsing speed by as much as 700% or more. It does this by compressing data that is transferred from the Internet to your computer. Less data to transfer = faster browsing speed!

What type of data will be accelerated? In general, web pages load at a much faster rate. You no longer have to wait and wait for web pages to display!

Graphics are displayed faster.
Text is displayed faster.
Web-based email is faster.
POP3-SMTP email is faster.

Is every type of file accelerated? No - certain types of files are already compressed, so that Web Acceleration software cannot compress these files any further. This includes many types of files that are downloaded to your computer, such as music or program downloads and streaming media.

Will my "connection speed" change? No - your "connection speed" will not change. Your connection speed is limited by your phone lines and your equipment. Web Acceleration allows web pages to load on your computer at a faster rate, despite the fact that your connection speed does not change. One great feature of the Acceleration software is that it has a built-in tool which allows you to see how well it is performing.

Is there anything else I should know? Yes - the more times you visit a particular page, the faster that page will load. The first time you visit a page, it might load 50% to 100% faster than normal. After several visits to that page, it could load 300% to 700% faster. In other words, your favorite pages will load the fastest.

Do you offer a free trial period? Yes, VT Rocket customers can try the Web Accelerator for 10 days, free of charge. If you decide not to continue, simply let us know before the 10-day trial is completed and we will cancel your Web Acceleration.

When and how much will you bill me? If you pay monthly, we will simply add $2 per month to the amount you are currently paying, starting with the first payment after your 10-day trial ends. If you pay annually, we will process a charge equal to $2 per month multiplied by the number of months remaining between the end of your 10-day trial and your next payment due date. For example, if your next payment for Internet access is due 11 months after your 10-day trial ends, we will process a charge for $22 (11 months X $2). That way, your Web Accelerator payments and your Internet access payments can be combined on all future payment dates.
